09/12/16 River Report
River Flow 106 CFS - Visibility Clear - AM Water Temp 68'F. - There isn't better weather than what is forecast for today!!! Sunny with a light breeze at most and high temp of 76'. This is a PERFECT day to get out and get the last of summer fishing in! - Bass will be active all day. - Fish are taking flying ants and ISO's on the top!! Come chase some bronzebacks!!! - The streamer & popper bite is still going strong, but with the fish looking up it doesn't get much better than dries and terrestrials. Stop in the shop and pick up the patterns you need and some intel on where to go!!!

With the river flow at 106 CFS it is possible to wade almost anywhere in the Housy. - This is an excellent chance to explore almost two miles of water above Push Em Up that you can't normally wade in. - Fish the upper TMA as this area holds lots of smallmouths that haven't seen much fishing pressure. - The pike, bass and carp fishing is still hot right now at the power house in Falls Village. - Fishing above the dam by boat has also been producing some nice pike and smallmouths.  - Today is a perfect day to get up here and throw your favorite popper on the stream for some of those big smallies. - With this flow it's a good opportunity to fish pools and riffles that are normally unwadeable. - This is the time of year to come up to study the HOUSY river bottom structure and understand how the fishing holes are laid out. - Don't forget to take pictures of the river bottom with landmarks for future reference. - Besides the BASS FISHING IS GREAT!!

Flying ants during the day. - Look for Iso's in the evenings. - Bass Popper Bite is still strong during the day and into the evening!! -  Look for Bass behind exposed boulders in all the deeper riffles & pools. - Fish the side channels of the power house in Falls Village for Bass or Carp. - Lot's of exposed river structure to target at the power house - Popper & Streamer fishing is the way to go during daylight hours.

AM River Water Temp 68' - River Flow 106 CFS. - Morning Air Temp 48'- Today's Air Temp High 76' - Tonight's Air Temp Low 50' - Remember from  June 15th until September 15th the mouths of tributaries that are  posted by the DEEP are closed to fishing (Look for White DEEP No Fishing Signs). There is a Emergency Fishing Closure in effect as of 08/18/16 for eight tributaries entering the Farmington River starting with East Mountain Brook in New Hartford at the RT 219 Bridge down river to Hyde Brook in Farmington.
