River Flow 309 CFS - Visibility Clear - AM Water Temp 44'F. - Veterans Day 2016! Thank you for your service! It will be a great day here on the Housy to come do some fishing or start making your holiday wish list. Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind around 10-16 mph. - The HOUSY is fishing well and keeping a nice flow level after a summer of low water. - Search the water in the morning by swinging streamers to find aggressive Rainbows and Browns. - If you don't get any takes on streamers then switch over to egg or nymph patterns and fish the water more closely. - Fish Egg Patterns as trout get into spawning mode. Come to Cornwall Bridge and enjoy a beautiful November day catching Browns and Rainbows on the Housy !! - At this time of year it's best to get on the river a little later in the morning. - This gives the sun a chance to warm up the river a couple degrees. - The fish will become more active in the slightly warmer water. - We are seeing some October Caddis. - HOUSY Trout are putting on the fall feed bag !!
BWO's thinning but still showing mid-morning thru the afternoon. - An effective day time technique is to swing soft hackles to sipping rises. - This is a perfect way to imitate swimming crippled BWO nymphs. - October Caddis in the late afternoon. - Also try nymphing deep during the day with a two fly rig.- On your two fly nymph rig start with Rubber Leg Stone Fly nymph and an Egg Pattern as a dropper. - Streamer fishing is a great way to cover water and to find fish. - Swing streamers for Trout behind exposed boulders in all the deeper riffles & pools. - Then go back and deep nymph over any river section that produced takes on streamers.
