We no longer carry this reel - Harold

Ross Cimarron

The Cimarron was first introduced in 1990. Since that time, it has gone through a number of changes and improvements, and continues to be the best selling machined fly reel on the market today.

The Cimarron was awarded Best of Show at the 1994 International Fly Tackle Dealer show for being the industry's best new product. Incorporating features that are only available on higher priced reels, the Cimarron has become one of the most popular fly reels in the world.

The Cimarron is a moderately priced, high-quality fly reel. The perfectly balanced spool and frame are fully ventilated, making this reel one of the lightest in its class. The large capacity spool employs oil impregnated bronze bushings for smooth rotation and an exposed rim for palming. It features a highly sophisticated disk drag system proven to be strong, smooth, sensitive and durable. With five sizes to choose from, the Cimarron series can handle anything from high-mountain brookies to powerful bonefish.

Ross dealers sell more Cimarron reels than any other quality reel. Cimarron reels are also the top choice for guides and outfitters because they are affordably priced, never wear out and never fail. You won't find a better value on the market today. No matter what you fancy - salty flats, high mountain streams or the awesome surf of the coldest seas, the Cimarron series will handle the task.

Features of the Cimarron:
  • Strong, smooth and sensitive disc drag system
  • Friction based Delrin® drag material that is impervious to heat, compression, glazing, aging and crumbling
  • Self-lubricating oil impregnated bronze bushings for ultra-smooth rotation
  • Fully ventilated, perfectly balanced spool and frame
  • Pleasant incoming and outgoing click
  • Seamless transition between line-in and drag engagement (no start-up friction)
