At the Covered Bridge in West Cornwall by the old Railroad Station - next to my old store - Guy and Charles are back in business - Yeah - from the former Brookside Bistro - they are back again serving the best French Food in the County by Far. - 860-672-7787 - I love this Restaurant.

 Roma Pizzeria

Canaan, CT - 15 miles north of us on Route 7. Their Pizza and Italian dishes are spectacular and the prices are even better. This is real italian fare and I eat there are often as I can - Real New York Style Pizza - Call them for takeout or eat in the dining room - (860)824-8125

 WANDERING MOOSE

West Cornwall, CT. 421 Goshen Sharon Turnpike - at the Covered Bridge. The Cafe at the Bridge is now open - serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have an excellent selection of breakast specials and sandwiches. This is the perfect place to take a break from fishing and watch fish take mayflies off the water at the Covered Bridge. Feel free to call ahead for take-out orders. (860) 672-0178 WEBSITE - www.thewanderingmoosecafe.com

BAIRDS GENERAL STORE

CORNWALL INN - 270 Kent Road, Cornwall Bridge - 860-672 - 6884

A Country Inn with an excellent restaurant and Pool - You can stay in the Main House or one of the smaller outbuildings - under new ownership and newly renovated - a great place to spend the night and have dinner. The food is excellent and the bar is a great place to hang out after a day of fishing.

BERKSHIRE CORNERS

Cornwall Village, CT at the intersection of Route 128 and Route 4. They have the best bagels and pizza in the area. This is where David Voelpel likes to get his gigantic sandwiches and the paper every day. They have the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. The Corners is also a fully stocked store and they are the nearest gas station. Call ahead with your orders. (860) 672-3663.

THE WOODLANDS

Route 41, Lakeville, CT - 15 minutes from the shop. (860) 435-0578. This is the place for hearty American cooking. The food is excellent, served on plates the size of manhole covers. You will be greeted by Carol the host and owner. Their seafood is the freshest for 50 miles and their ribs are to die for. They only take reservations for parties of 5 or more. So if you want a table - come early. My favorite haunt after the evening hatch. Try one of John's famous frozen margaritas.
