CORTLAND LINES - 2008

444 Classic Sylk Line for Bamboo Rods

444 Classic Sylk is the first modern line designed specifically for fine bamboo and rods. The "Sylk" replicates the fine diameter, long taper, supple feel, and subtle color of natural silk, but in a modern, easy to care for fly line. But, the "Sylk" isn't just for bamboo! If you are one of the many anglers who have rediscovered the delights of fiberglass fly rods, this line is for you! It even works well on graphite for the finest presentations under the most demanding low water conditions. Can you say "midges?"

This is the first fully synthetic fly line to duplicate the original appearance and supple performance of the finest natural silk lines, without the maintenance or high cost. The smaller diameter makes it perfect for the angler who uses older bamboo or fiberglass rods, and the mustard color nearly matches the look of traditional silk line. Its suppleness makes it a great cold weather line on virutally any fly rod. It's available in weight forward or double-taper styles.

Sizes: DT2-8 Type: Floating
Taper: WFColor: Mustard
Core: Nylon Braid

444 Classic Fly Lines - 444 is a supple fly line with superior buoyancy and a glass smooth surface. The precision taper designs softly turn-over your leaders for delicate presentations. Excellent for all fishing conditions including coldwater situations. Double and Weight Forward Tapers.
Cortland introduces another first with its 444 Classic Series: an all new package featuring an interactive CD entitled "Fly Fishing With Cortland." Included with every Classic fly line, this CD will walk you through the basics of fly line use and will help you choose your next fly line based on both fishing situation and species. The Classic package is an invaluable tool for both the beginning and advanced fly angler.

The built-in buoyancy and slick surface of the 444 lines allows for smooth pickups and efficient casts. The precision tapers turn over your leaders for perfect fly presentations. Line is 90-ft. long.

Peach Color

444 Intermediate Fly Lines - With a specific gravity of 1.06, the neutral density 444 Intermediate fly line is only slightly heavier than water. Left untreated, it will sink very slowly making it especially useful for fishing over shallow, submerged weed beds. A favorite for fly fishing enthusiasts, because the line settle just below a surface chop and remains straight for positive hook-setting. Available in WF 3wt - 10 wt. Available in clear camo. Price $48.00
